SUMMARY:Understanding the Berry Amendment\, Buy American Act (BAA)\, Trade Agreements\, and the Nonmanufacturer Rule
DESCRIPTION:Whether you are new to government sales or have been selling to federal agencies and the Department of Defense for years\, the landscape is changing. For 60 years\, the United States has been outsourcing and offshoring manufacturing. Today\, the government’s statutes and regulations are shifting towards a more domestic supply chain. For example\, in October 2023\, the domestic component percentage jumped to 65%. Combined with strategic sourcing and category management\, you need to understand how the Buy American Act (BAA) and the Nonmanufacturer Rule (NMR) apply to full-and-open and set-aside procurements. The updated statutes and regulations may impact market share for companies that have been selling to the government for years. \nIf you don’t fully understand how BAA\, NMR\, and trade agreements impact your company\, you will want to attend this session. We will cover the Buy American Act\, Trade Agreements\, the Berry Amendment\, the Nonmanufacturer Rule\, and how to quickly identify which ones impact your company. We’ll cover regulatory updates\, discuss manufacturers versus distributors\, explain the common “gotcha’s” for small businesses\, and examine several real-world case studies. \nJoshua Frank is a nationally recognized expert in bridging government sales strategies with business strategies. A #1 bestselling author\, public speaker\, and emcee for the National Veterans Conference\, Mr. Frank is widely recognized as one of the top GovCon small business experts in the United States. His training approach is consistently rated as being real-world\, highly educational\, and thought-provoking. Don’t miss this! \nTarget Audience: Small business owners\, marketing\, sales\, proposal and contract managers

SUMMARY:How to Make Informed Bid “Go/No Go” Decisions (2024 Update)
DESCRIPTION:This training is designed to provide an in-depth review of the Federal Government’s Uniform Contract Format (UCF) structure and contents\, and how to use that information to make better Bid “Go/No Go” decisions. \nIt is widely recognized in government contracting that most companies have limited Bid and Proposal (B&P) budgets and that it often takes a significant amount of time\, money\, and resources to develop a responsive and competitive proposal. Furthermore\, under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)\, the government does not reimburse a company’s B&P costs. Those costs are considered a normal “cost of doing business” and are allowable under government contracts as an indirect expense to the extent that those costs are allocable and reasonable. Just because a company believes it can deliver the required government products and/or services doesn’t mean that its proposal will be competitive and result in a contract award. Given the fact that there are no guarantees that a company will win any government contracts and recoup all or a portion of their B&P costs\, it is important for a business to carefully choose which contract opportunities they want to pursue. \nOne way of getting the most out of a limited B&P budget and increasing your company’s contract win rate is by conducting bid “Go/No Go” evaluations. These evaluations help prospective offerors assess their core competencies\, resources\, and potential competitiveness in light of the government’s solicitation requirements\, evaluation factors\, and stated basis of award. \nIf you are new to the government marketplace\, applying the tips and strategies discussed in this course will help you focus on contract opportunities that align with your core competencies\, better understand the government’s UCF structure/requirements\, and increase your competitiveness. \nIf you are a seasoned government contractor\, this course will provide you with strategies to achieve a better return on your B&P investments\, increase your competitive edge\, and improve your contract win rate. \nHere is a summary of what you’ll learn: \nHow requirements\, acquisition policies\, and thresholds drive government procurement strategies and how this information can be used to fine-tune market capture efforts.\nRequired business capabilities for government prime contractors and subcontractors.\nHow to locate attractive contract opportunities that align with your company’s core capabilities and competitive strengths.\nHow to use the Uniform Contract Format (UCF) to better understand the government’s requirements\, proposal instructions\, and source selection methodologies.\nHow to build and perform critical bid “Go/No Go” evaluations based upon the government’s UCF requirements\, procurement strategy\, and basis of award.\nHow to address and mitigate identified UCF capability shortfalls to improve your competitiveness and chances of winning government contracts.\nHow to demonstrate “responsibility” when your company currently does not have all of the capabilities to successfully complete the government’s contract requirements.\nHow to evaluate the government’s UCF requirements and conduct bid “Go/No Go” evaluations to improve your company’s government contract win rate.\nThis session will also include two handouts of the presentation documents and lifetime access to the course within the Govology.com platform. If you join the live session\, you will also have the opportunity to ask your most pressing UCF and bid “Go/No Go” evaluation questions from a highly experienced\, award-winning contracting professional who’s been on both sides of the government/industry market. \nTarget Audience: \nNew contractors seeking to learn how to use the Uniform Contract Format (UCF) to perform bid “Go/No Go” evaluations and win their first government contract.\nSeasoned government contractors seeking to refine their market capture strategy\, improve the fidelity of their bid “Go/No Go” evaluations\, and increase their contract win rate.

SUMMARY:Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) - Cost Reimbursable Requirements Series - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:The National APEX Accelerator Alliance (NAPEX) and your local APEX Accelerator are excited to announce the upcoming DCAA Cost Reimbursable Requirements Series.  Part 1 of the Cost Reimbursable Requirements Series includes Incurred Cost Submissions and Contract Briefs. \nAt the end of a defined accounting period\, federal government contractors must submit actual costs incurred to DCAA.  The intention of this process is for DCAA to review costs claimed to ensure they are allowable\, allocable\, and reasonable per FAR 31\, as well as within the terms of their respective contracts.  DCAA will discuss requirements for the annual submission and what DCAA considers to be elements of an adequate submission.  This training provides an overview of the DCAA Incurred Cost Electronic (ICE) model\, which provides contractors with a standard user-friendly package to compile their financial data.  DCAA will also discuss its adequacy review process and means of how they select submissions for audit. \nWhy is briefing your contracts so important?  Contract briefs are your “One Stop Shop” for all pertinent information\, including contract provisions\, clauses\, requirements\, allowability\, funding\, and so much more!  DCAA will discuss the use of contract briefs in audits\, reviewing vouchers\, and the usefulness of contract brief information while monitoring your contract expenditures. \nRegister
